Dear colleagues,

I am using mysql 4.1.20 installed on linux operating system, the problem is when i run my processes that have a connection to mysql, they works fine but if the process still idle for a short period (about 1-2 hours ) then tries to use the connection again it found that the connection to mysql became down.

The idle connection gets destroyed OR the MySQL process no longer exists (a crash or server stop ended the daemon)?
